Q: Has Apple just abandoned/forsaken this app?

No updates for over a year? Should we bother with an app that Apple has essentailly forgotten it developed?

Only you can answer that question.

I would be interested in knowing what is preventing you using Keynote.

I am very aware of its limitations compared to PowerPoint and the other alternatives but it still does 95% of my presentations.
