Jan 4, 2013 10:04 AM in response to andrewfrommedinaby JoshRich,This is the same problem I am having. I cleared my iPhoto trash, but now over 90% of my library is not showing (these photos and videos were not in the trash as well im sure of it). Albums still show with title and all, but there are no photos or videos inside. Would love some help!

what recently changed? what version of iPhoto do you have?
Plus in your case the veresion of the OS - you do not give that - the OP does
Using all of the information you gave the most likely reason is that you deleted 90% of your photos and they are gone

PS - using cute emoticons, strange formatting, bold, underlining, etc does not replace actually providing requested information

Jan 4, 2013 10:10 AM in response to LarryHNby JoshRich,Nothing had changed. I just cleared my iPhoto trash, then when I went back into iPhoto all albums were there but just blank black thumbnails. Photos and videos that were in iPhoto trash were put into the finder trash, but the missing photos and videos were not. I was suggested to update iPhoto, it is now updated to the lastest version. Didnt help. So i repaired and rebuilt the database, did not help. Thats where im at.

Jan 4, 2013 10:26 AM in response to LarryHNby JoshRich,I would appreciate your help if youre willing to give it...
The albums that are blank, there were CERTAIN photos that were deleted in them, yes. But the album in whole was not deleted. Neither were all the photos inside them.
If I made a stupid mistake like that I wouldnt be ashamed to say it.
But I know that they were in the library before, not in the trash, but when i cleared the iPhoto trash it removed those as well. But only the photos that were in the iPhoto trash were moved to the finder trash. The others, are no where to be found.

Jan 4, 2013 11:35 AM in response to JoshRichby Terence Devlin,Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.
Regards
TD
