printing panorama photo

When I try to print a panorama aspect ratio photo, iPhoto crops the sides. It is not that I am trying to print a photo size that is too wide for the paper. Even if I tell it to print a small size on a letter-size paper, that small size will get cropped. I could print this using photoshop, but surely there is a way to do this in iPhoto. Running iPhoto11 in Mountain Lion. Thank you.
