photoshop elements 11 albums won't sync

Photoshop Elements 11 albums won't sync with ipad using iTunes.

I was using PE10 and synced my albums using iTunes to my iPad 3 iOS 6.0 and 5.1 just fine. (itunes 10.7.0.21) I upgraded to PE11 and it goes into perpetual sync when albums are selected. I deleted some albums and added test albums in PE11 and those changes are not reflected in iTunes.

I worked with Apple Care for about 2 hours uninstalling all of the Apple software (iTunes, etc) and reinstalling. That did not fix it. Apple declared it an Adobe problem and suggested I call them.

I worked with Adobe about 45 minutes before they declared it an iTunes problem.

Any ideas out there?

I'm having the same problem with Elements 11 and I've also found that even moving new photos into existing albums doesn't work. The album created with Elements 8 syncs fine, but only with the photos which were already in hte album, not those I moved in with Elements 11. This severely restricts the benefits of elements 11 & itunes syncing. Any word on when it might be fixed - Apple, can you do something?

I solved the mystery. It had to do with the file metadata in the Photoshop Elements catalog. When I moved the catalog (pictures) from my old machine to the new machine, the path (folder location) of the images changed. So, although the catalog had cached thumbnails of the photos to display in Photoshop Elements (which tricked me into thinking that the path to the images was correct), the paths were actually wrong. All I had to do was “reconnect” the missing images (a feature in Photoshop Elements which corrects missing/wrong paths to images) and now everything works correctly (sync in iTunes).

lasantamike,

I agree with you, in hind sight, the problem I was having was different from yours. My problem was caused when I moved my photoshop elements catalog to a new machine and new file path/directory location of the pictures. My problem had nothing to do with the switch from photoshop elements 10 to 11.

Sorry for the confusion...
