Messages will not let me add cell phone.

I'm trying to add my cell phone under email addresses in Messages on OS 10.8.2. When I enter +1-xxx-xxx-xxxx, I get a messages saying an email verification has been sent. I never see an email anywhere - never get a text. I've added my cell phone number in my account on Apple's site as well. How do I get this linked up?

Thank you for any suggestions!

Hi,

Is the number you are trying to add the iPhone number of a iOS 6 device ?

Have you tried it the other way round - Adding the Apple ID to the iOS 6 iPhone's Send and Receive info ?

This tends to get a message pop up on the Mac that the iPhone number is now listed.

HI,

The full set of features require both Mac OS x 10.8.2 and iOS 6

At Mac OS X 10.8 and 8.1 and later versions of iOS 5 (as in iOS 5.1.1) then the iPhone Number can not be an alias from the Mac as a "Send From ID"

The Syncing of Calls made to the iPhone via it's Number are also not synced to the Mac (and the Apple ID)

I actually have an iPhone 4GS on a Pay as you Go contact and it does not have the Data option on.

This tends to mean I can only use the Maps when at home on Wifi.

On a side note

This pic denotes response for a Siri Question about the nearest Railway Station.

The Address at the top does not even relate to where the West Moors Pin is. Nor does it relate to where the blue Pin is

Close up from Google Maps of West Moors.

In the mid 1960s there was a big review of the Railways here.

As a result many single track lines and stations disappeared.

4 of those Red pins are stations that have not existed for at least 40 years.

Bournemouth is not marked at it is the largest Station in the Area.

The line goes on to Poole (the next town West) then Wareham, Wool then Dorchester before ending at Weymouth (Olympic Sailing). However a large number of services terminate at Bournemouth.

Just one of those curious little issues where it lists 12 Stations which might be Near to me.
