Fan running too high!
Lately my computer's fan has been running way too high when I wake it up from sleep! I have also noticed it is much slower than normal. Should make an
appointment and take it to the apple store?

Have you done a PRAM reset, CMD+Option+p+r...
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1379
In fact, do 3 in a row, takes a bit of time.
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)...

If that doesn't help, take it in.

I just have one question. Can this erase my computer? I am not backed up.
Because on that page it says " SMC reset should only be attempted after all other standard troubleshooting has been performed".
It should not erase anything, but do get a backup drive asap. 🙂
Thank You!
Great news, thanks 300Tech! 🙂
