The iPod touch 2nd Gen cannot upgrade to iOS 4.3 because it is too old and it can only go up to iOS 4.2. iPod 3rd Gen or later can only get 4.3.

Does it say that you have to download iOS 4.3 or later? If that is the case, the best solution for his problem is to buy an iPod touch 4G or iPod touch 5G. Does this help?
Well, that's not true....cause i had Ios 4.3...something on my 4 year old ipod touch, and i had facebook on it, but then i bouht a new computer, and the ipod was reinstalled, and now i can't install facebook or anything anymore, it just keep saying that i don't have Ios 4.3....and that's wierd because i had i before the reinstallation.....so my guess is that Apple, some how, have blocked the Ios 4.3 for this type of ipod touch, so everyone can go spend some money on new apple devices because the old ones can't be used for anything anymore!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:S

I am pretty sure that you did not have iOS 4.3 on the Second Generation iPod touch. Also, buying a new iPod touch is the solution. Also, Apple doesn't make us pay for this but the software is too new for it. Same as computers and Android. So the thing you did is not true.
well, why did i install facebook and a lots of other programs without any problems, that requires ios 4.3?:S
