Well I'll be there anyway this weekend for issues with my iPod so it won't hurt to ask
Nope :) GL
If you bought the ipad using the Amex card, automatically you get return protection upto $300.
Atleast you may reduce your loss.
it is possible apple will issue $100 credit i thought it happens with iphone 1
So if I buy something with an AmEx card I automatically get a refund whenever a newer model is introduced?
Gotta get me one o' them!!!
Why would Apple owe anyone anything? It's a new model. New models come out all the time.

Here the 'Sicilianbrat94' is asking a question in the forum, how to get compensated .
By using Amex card return protection, he can atleast get compensated to some extent.
That is very true new models always come out but there was no talk about this one or anything if there was some rumor I would have waited but there wasnt
And I am sincerely wondering how that works. I have no earthly idea why AmEx would do such a thing. Please explain it?
Apple never makes announcements before hand. Why would Apple owe someone money because the they didn't hear any rumors about an iPad 4? The logic of it defies me, honestly.
I bought my Early '09 Mac mini in MAY '09. The Late '09 Mac mini was introduced in NOV '09, seven months after the Early '09 Mac mini. I never dreamed that I should have received compensation.
It's true, with AmEx you can cancel purchases even after a long time-lapse (forgot the exact number) with no questions asked. It's very handy if you get duped on ebay / paypal.
Mind you, AmEx has its drawbacks too, research before you try to get one.
I am in the same situation. I'm not looking for compensation, but I will say, I'm very disappointed on the early ipad 4 announcement only after the ipad 3 was only 7 months old. I acquired mine 60 days before the annoucement.
At least car manufactures might not announce the functions and features in the new model but you know when they come out!
Please go through the terms, may be you can help if I have overlooked some thing
When your new shoes arrive, they don't quite match the dress. But if you used your Card, Return Protection1 is there to help you make it right.
• No More Shopping Regrets - In the event you change your mind about a purchase, Return Protection 1 offers an extended return policy on designated items purchased entirely with an eligible American Express® Card.
• 90 Days of Protection - If you try to return an eligible item purchased in the U.S. within 90 days from the date of purchase and the merchant won't take it back, American Express® can refund the purchase price.
• Up to $300 Coverage - You can be reimbursed for up to $300 per eligible item, excluding shipping and handling, up to $1,000 annually per Card account.
Protection is subject to additional terms, conditions, and exclusion
