I am having trouble installing microsoft silverlight

I am trying to watch a netflix movie, and it prompts me to download microsoft silverlight. I do, and give permission to install it onto my harddrive, restart the browser, and yet there the movie still gives me the prompt to install microsoft silverlight. help!?
