Will a back up on iCloud allow you to restore all the files on a iPod touch after a sync to a new computer deleted everything?

Hi everyone

I have the same dilemma most people have when trying to sync an old iPod to a new Mac HD... 😢

I had to replace my HD and lost all my files...now I am trying to safe my music on my iPod...

If you were to have a back up of your current iPod on iCloud

Sync the iPod to the new iTunes and so delete everything

Could you then restore your iPod with the back up on iCloud and still be synced to the new iTunes?

So you have your iPod synced without losing anything?

Any help appreciated!!

Thank you!!🙂

Follow these instructions:

Syncing to a "New" Computer or replacing a "crashed" Hard Drive: Apple Support Communities

or

Sync Your iOS Device with a New Computer Without Losing Data - How-To Geek

iCloud only included iTunes purchases unless you have iTunes Match for music. Thus, if you restore from iCloud music you will only have iTunes purchases (and iTunes Match music) on the iPod. Also, you will not be able to sync to a computer but you can manage music and videos with the computer.

Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers

For what is in a backup see:

iTunes: About iOS backups

Hi

Thank you for your help!!🙂

The only problem i still have is that Senuti will only copy a song with a name once...

What i mean is that i have various tracks that are called track 1 or track 2 etc...

And Senuti will only copy the first track 1 and then mark the rest of the track 1's as already copied and will not copy all of them onto my iTunes...

Do you know a way around this?

Thanks!!🙂
