I just bought my iPhone 5 about a week ago and my back facing camera freezes occasionally covering the screen with this magenta bar

UPDATE: I found out that when it mostly focuses on a perticular subject and it moves away really fast, the purple/magenta bar appears
I am having the exact same issue. No problems with the front facing camera but the back facing is freezing and giving the purple/magenta bar part way across the screen. The shutters will then come up and I can no longer take pictures.
I have tried downloading other camera apps but the same problems occurs.
I have updated to iOS 6.0.1 which said it resolved some camera issues but this hasn't helped.
Have you managed to resolve the issue Shaun? Any further update on your problem?

is this a hardware issue? Should we get a replacement already. it seems intermittent so it doesn't bother me as much, but just worried that it might get worse after 1 year.

Could you figure out a solution to this? I am also facing similar issue with the back camera
As soon as I switch the camera on it shows either a blank black screen or shutter image and after that nothing works till I exit the camera
Is this a software issue or do I need to show this to an apple store?
