Nov 5, 2012 8:52 PM in response to chrunckby Deckar,Sorry to hear it didn't help for you. It bites when new equipment doesn't work properly.
Stressful!
I will try tomorrow and see. Tonight it's happened 3 times in 4 hours. Only for a few seconds each time.
It kinda makes me nervous though. I work on this machine.

Nov 5, 2012 10:22 PM in response to chrunckby soundx,I am disappointed to hear that pulling out a RAM didn't work, because atleast that would've implied that a firmware fix was possible. Now we're back to square one.

Nov 5, 2012 10:24 PM in response to KevChengby BDAqua,BD - can you ask in the thread there for the mini owners with bad flicker/dropout problems to post their bootrom (EFI) and SMC versions. (just curious after seeing the intel comment on flicker tips (1 dimm) and saying later bios would be fix it.

Nov 6, 2012 5:55 AM in response to Martin Naegeliby Martin Naegeli,Dear all
exchanging RAM (take out factory 2x2gb and replacing by 2x8gb and 1x8gb) didn't bring anything.
Apple is currently sending another MacMini and we all hope, this was just a btach of faulty Intel 400-boards...
cheers
Sheerkhan
(btw. Support and Technical Departement sometimes know of the problem, sometimes deny it and sometimes...well never mind )

Nov 6, 2012 10:51 AM in response to Tom Sheppardby Tom Sheppard,I installed a second Dell monitor. Only the HDMI monitor blacks out, the one connected to the mini display port to DVI adapter is fine.

Nov 6, 2012 10:52 AM in response to chrunckby BDAqua,Well, I guess it's not the Boot ROM or SMC version then, since I have a report of those on a Mini that doesn't exibit this problem.

Nov 6, 2012 12:07 PM in response to KevChengby Harle,I bought a Mac mini 6,2 last friday and I also have the blackout problem since day one. Happens about once every two hours. The blackout usually lasts less than 1 Second. Sometimes the blackout is followed by the snow screen which will only go away if I cycle inputs or cycle power on my monitor. I am using a Samsung P2450 connected via the hdmi-dvi adapter.
The blackout also happens in Bootcamp with Windows 7.
I would be very interested to know if I have to swap my mini for a new one or if this is something that can be fixed by a software update.

Nov 6, 2012 12:49 PM in response to KevChengby knight011,I'm getting the blank/snowy effect issue if using hdmi > hdmi. I'm also getting the colour profile issue, but I've calibrated that to an acceptable level until a permanent fix is released. I used Gamma Control http://michelf.ca/projects/gamma-control/ and followed instructions from another forum http://forums.macrumors.com/showpost.php?p=16226080&postcount=11.

Nov 6, 2012 11:57 PM in response to KevChengby 1623,Same here.
Thunderbolt to display port works fine, but the monitor connected with HDMI blacks out - once or twice a day, for less than one second.
I also had a sand- snowstorm like screen. This problem could be solved by turning the HDMI monitor off and on.
No fun.
