Dec 10, 2012 12:54 PM in response to KevChengby dlhanse,Yeah, if your blinking every six seconds there is something else wrong. I always had blinks about 10 to 15 min after startup. Updated and haven't seen any blinking yet.

Dec 10, 2012 12:56 PM in response to MyApple8MyPCby 3nd-it,Done. It seems to be a firmware or hardware issue since it blinks also during bootup or in recovery partition. Tryed everything: changing cables (all high speed HDMI 1.4 certified), hdmi ports etc. No way.
MM 2011 perfect without any issue as all other my HDMI equipments: MySKYHD, PS3, Blu Ray Player. My new MM Late 2012, instead, blink every 6 seconds!

Dec 10, 2012 1:11 PM in response to 3nd-itby MyApple8MyPC,Just curious, which way did you get your firmware, through update or website? I seem to remember that if one doesn't work sometimes the other does, but that might just apply to OS X updates.

Dec 10, 2012 1:18 PM in response to MyApple8MyPCby 3nd-it,Trough update. I've also tryied to re-apply the update downloading it directly from the website but it recognize that my MM is just updated and didn't re-apply.

Dec 10, 2012 3:43 PM in response to BDAquaby 3nd-it,Don't know why it doesn't work for me, but nothing has changed after the 1.7 firmware update. Obviusly I've rebooted many times, powered-off, disconnected and re-connected HMDI, powered-off and on the AVR and the TV: nothing.
I've also reset the NVRAM and PRAM.. same. I think there is something not working well in the HDCP in these late 2012 mini.

Dec 10, 2012 3:51 PM in response to BDAquaby john_rankin,After update:
Boot ROM Version: MM61.0106.B03
Firmware updated over 3 hours ago, so far no blink. Color me optimistic.

Dec 10, 2012 4:49 PM in response to MyApple8MyPCby Philip Tyler,Not sure whether to update or not as my replacement MM hasn't blinked once or given me the static/shash screen for a week now?
What to do?

If you don't need the update then what improvement will the update make?
You can always update later if needed, but once you update there is no going back

Dec 10, 2012 6:48 PM in response to Philip Tylerby Bigbabaloo,Philip,
I agree with MyMac8MyPc... If its not flickering, no need to update. The update will always be available if needed.
However, perhaps Apple installed the firmware update on your replacement Mini before they sent it to you... Maybe worth checking your BIOS Version as shown by John Rankin's post above. Apparently the update shows as:
Boot ROM Version: MM61.0106.B03
Cheers

Dec 10, 2012 7:10 PM in response to Bigbabalooby MyApple8MyPC,I don't think the update is available if it has already been applied, but doesn't hurt to check the Boot ROM Version.
Good idea
