Oct 27, 2012 11:22 AM in response to mende1by ImportSport,Thanks for the suggestion. I am using the correct keystroke combination. Command-M minimizes the active window. My expectation is that Option-Command-M would minimize all open windows in the workspace. This combination has no effect (at all) on my workspace.

Oct 27, 2012 11:44 AM in response to mende1by ImportSport,Thanks for the confirmation.
The Apple shortcut support page lists this as an option. It is an option that I would find usefu, particularly on this MBA that is routinely connected and disconnected from a larger monitor.

Oct 27, 2012 11:55 AM in response to mende1by macjack,Well, it works to minimize all here.
Could be Finder prefs...
Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key and choose Library. Then go to Preferences folder and trash these files:
com.apple.finder.plist
Then, restart, or log out and in again.
(You will have to reset a few finder prefs the way you like them.)

Jan 16, 2014 3:17 AM in response to ImportSportby HWmac,I've also found Command-Option-M does not minimize all windows.
It doesn't do anything at all with multiple windows open.
Anyone found a solution to this?

Jul 1, 2014 9:17 AM in response to ImportSportby dtloxy,Try this: Command+Option+H+M. It sounds like it may not work in all situations, but it worked for m (As did Command+H for Hide All).
From: http://osxdaily.com/2012/02/07/minimize-and-hide-all-windows-in-mac-os-x-with-co mmandoptionhm/
"By combining the Hide All shortcut with the minimize keyboard shortcut in Mac OS X Lion, you can use a third ‘Minimize and Hide All’ shortcut by hitting the Command+Option+H+M keys."

Mar 1, 2015 6:00 PM in response to dtloxyby Seth from SF,This worked for me! Command+Option+H+M keys. It appears the H hides all the windows that are not active. The M hides the active window. I am running OS X 10.10.2.
Thank you for the tip! -Seth W
