How to deactivate a shared Hard drive on Airport Extreme - keeps sleeping

was curious if anyone one knows how to temporally deactivate a shared Hard drive on Airport Extreme - keeps sleeping every 30mins and have to wait 12 second for the drive to spin up and wait for the beach ball to stop spinning. Getting really aggravating.... Thanks
