Right click, open with, Archive utility
Thanks for the reply,
I have tried that as well. It flashes quickly like it wants to open then just closes off the dock. Not sure why it's doing that?
I suspect you're trying to say you've received an email with a .zip attachment.
How about if you save the attachment first, then try to open it as suggested above?
No go... Save it and even delete the .zip and still not able to veiw it. It holds photos.
" ... even delete ..."??? I'm confused.
Here's an article about .zip files on Mountain Lion: http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10915
Based on that, try saving the .zip attachment first, say, on your desktop. Then double click it.
Save only the attachment, not the email.
Make sure it's called [something].zip
Thank you for your help. It is still not working. There must be something wrong with the file? I moved it to the desktop, verified that it is a .zip. When I double click, Archive untily flashes and then the file is copied as a .zip.cpgz
No worries. Will call support tommrrow.
Thank you again.
Calling support is a good idea.
When I searched "cpgz file" in the knowledge base, I found this article making me think Apple is suspicious about your file possibly containing malware.
