Mtn Lion won't install-says HD is not formatted as Mac OS Extended

Disk Utility indicates that the drive IS formatted as Mac OS Extended, but the installer says it isn't.

This is my main system drive. Is there anything I can do short of completely reformatting my drive?

Running: an iMac 27" 2.93 GHz Intel Core i7, 12 GB RAM with OS10.6.8

Is your hard disk formatted with Mac OS Extended (Journaled)? To enable journaling, open > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2355

Thank you... I needed to enable Journaling.

I did so, and the install is proceeding. I appreciate your help.
