"a new version number" for updates

Hi,

in iba2.0 there for updates there is a new field for: "new version number". default is 1.0.

it the support it said the number must be higher than in the store.

actually I don't see a version number at my book page in the store.

however - since it is published yet the version number probably should be 1.1 or 2.0. I don't see any information how the numers have to be increased.

furthermore I did not see any field to explain about "what's new".

After uploading I got a waring: "ITMS-4172..."

Assume your existing book is v1.0

Assume you'd push an update and version it 1.1

What have you done in that regard that is working or failing, so far?

I updated this book first time. The same day, just before, I updated to Author 2.0.

I was surprised during update to be asked by Producer for a version number, since this was new for me. Never before I was asked for it (several books this year).

And I can't see any version number in the store.

However in the end producer said all data are ok to be delivered, and I did. But finally the error message, attached below appeared.

Now, in Connect, I see first time this message below the book:

Version: original: Status green, On 5 Stores

Version: 1.0 Status: In Review, yellow

The very first version is named "original". the updated one "1.0" (since I did not change the default entry).

Now I don't know if I have to take any action and explain what is new. Also I don't know where to give this info.

Or, just waiting for the "review"... And how is the counting: original, 1.0, ...or 1.0, 1.1, ...

yes,and I received 2 "Your Action Needed" stickers after uploading

Author 2.0 (327) asks for a version number when exporting.

When you then use Producer, it asks for 'What's New in Version" even if you do not change the version number from original.

You get the der_denker error when producing and my action after uploading.

again no explanations just "Your Action Needed"

Hi K.T.,

Producer was still 2.7.1.

tkOus seems to be confused as me.

In Connect I see that "version 1.0" still is in "review".

I guess I have to contact the service if I have to take action (and exactly what kind) or just waiting for review?

In the meanwehile I will update Producer. However, the Producer 2.8 guide does not explain enough.

New info: Updating to iba 2.0 without updating to producer 2.8 is not to recommend:

Book Versioning is available for books constructed in EPUB 3 or using iBooks Author version 2.0.

If your book is in EPUB 3 format or was created using iBooks Author version 2.0, it is important to note you are required to fill out the "What's New in Version" section in the Info pane in iTunes Producer. If you update your book and you do not fill out this section, your book will not continue through our review process and thus, will not go live on the iBookstore.

First please ensure you are using the latest version (2.8) of iTunes Producer. You can download this new version in iTunes Connect under the Deliver Your Content module. Once you have launched iTunes Producer version 2.8 and clicked on Look Up Metadata from the “Welcome to iTunes Producer” window, you will see the "What’s New in Version" section in the Info pane.

If your book is not in EPUB 3 format and was not created using iBooks Author version 2.0, you are not required to fill out the "What's New in Version" section in iTunes Producer.
