Is there a free trial for Logic 9 of Logic express? I have been using ProTools for years, but have been thinking about switching to Logic. I would like to try before I buy. Thanks!

Unfortunately, a Logic Pro trial isn't available. You can purchase it in the Mac App Store

mende1 is correct; there's no trial or demo version of Logic available. I know...it seems silly. I've had the same issue with some of Apple's pro applications in the past, but I don't think it's likely to change.
On the plus side, there is a huge amount of information available about Logic Pro. Check out some of the videos on YouTube.
As someone who has used both Pro Tools and Logic, I can tell you that I greatly prefer Logic. It's an incredible value. The software instruments and sample libraries alone are worth the price.
For a bit of perspective, Logic used to cost $1,000. It was well worth it at that price, but at the current price ($200), it's arguably the best value in music production software in the galaxy.
