Having connection issues with Facebook Exporter for iPhoto v1.0.8

Just recently I started having issues exporting to facebook with my exporter tool in iphoto. When I click on login from within the tool it opens a browser for me to enter my password and login. Then the browser goes to a blank screen. the URL address is https://www.facebook.com/login.php?login_attempt=1&popup=1

I am not logged in to facebook so iphoto gives me a connection error that said there was a problem connecting to facebook. check my internet connection and try again. I'm good on the internet connection... so its not that.

I thought it might because my default browser was chrome so I changed it to Safari or that it might be a pop up issue so I turned off the pop up blocker.... still no joy...

anyone have any ideas?

Is this the Apple supplied Facebook upload included in iPhoto or it is a third party exporter plugin? If so does it support yoru version on iPhoto? Have you contacted the author?

It is the exporter supplied through apple and it has worked for years.... just recently not working...

I missed it before - are you using iPhoto version 1.0.8?

I do not believe that Apple provided a facebook interface that long ago - although I don't think I ever users iPhoto that long ago either

yes it is a feature of iphoto... and sorry i got the version incorrect.. .its iphoto 8 version 7.1.5

That is very different - It has been w while since I used iPhoto '08 - in the preferences is there a place yoou can delete the facebook account info and re-enter it?

I am having the same iusse with iphoto 9.

It just stopped working, you login in to facebook and it the window for the login goes blank.

I deleted the preferences but that did not work.

Any Ideas.

I just called apple and they were no help. Im currently OS X version 10.6.8 using Iphoto 09 versions 8.1.2. They basically said i have to go into the store!

Hi

I'm having the exact same problem .... exporting photos from iphoto to Facebook had worked perfectly fine for years, then I tried to export some photographs just a couple of days ago and I get the same problems as the Original Poster.

I'm on Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6), iphoto 6 v6.06.

I've tried updating my Adobe Flash player, to no avail.

I'm pleased that other people are experiencing the same problems, but it's a mystery as to why it's suddenly stopped working.

When I was in work I was able to upload photos to Facebook that were saved on my desktop no problem - work uses Windows. But I'm unable to even go to Facebook, click on Create an Album and take it from there ... when I click on Create an Album nothing seems to happen.

I'm so frustrated.

Here's the trick: In your browser, log out of facebook. Now export from iphoto with facebook exporter - click the button to log in to facebook. It will take you to a web page to complete the login, then it will say to close the browser window and return to iphoto. Now you will be logged in to facebook and able to use facebook exporter. You may have to log in the next time you access facebook with your browser. Good luck.

I was having the same problem, and then went to facebook and changed my security setting to "Secure browsing is currently disabled." Now it works again, as the secure connection was blocking the plugin login.

Tip: If you see "https" in your facebook address, then you are using a secure connection. If you see "http" you are not using a secure connection.
