Burning DVD from Wondershare DVD Creator

I have finally managed to find a straightforward DVD authoring package that seems, when viewed in Preview, to display Anamorphic DV. mov files as complete 16:9 images rather than tall and thin 4:3.

But my frustration continues - I have had my 16:9 success using Wondershare's DVD Creator but when moving on to use its Burn facility the Progress report has stuck at 50% of "Preparing data..."

I am using an 2009 iMac running OS X 10.6.8.

Any thoughts anyone - thanks for any help - MichaelCobham

What iMovie version are you using?

And, since yours is a 2009 - do you not have iDVD installed (part of iLife)?

I would prefer that over any other authoring software I've tried. I did download the DVD Creator trial and ditched it after a short but intensive trial. So, I can't help with that - if you don't get help here (unless someone is using it), you might want to try their support.

Thanks babowa. I have tried iDVD - my first choice obviously but cannot find how to get my Anamorphic DV .mov files to display in wide screen once they are imported into iDVD. The original .movs play in wide screen perfectly when shown via Quicktime. The files were originally produced in Final Cut Express having been shot on my Canon XM2 on Mini DV - the camera set to create 16:9 anamorphically - in 4:3 everything looks tall and thin!

In Wondershare I HAVE managed to get the same files to Preview in 16:9 - but then failed to get Wondershare to burn a DVD on the iMac.

Any guidance much appreciated - with my thanks MichaelCobham.

I have never had that problem - however, it would be much better for you to post this question in the iDVD forum; that is where all the DVD knowledgeable people hang out. Redo your subject line to include iDVD - then mention everything you've tried (including the DVD creator).
