Hidden files?

Hi,

I am running 10.6 server on a quad core mac server

The server has a 120 GB SSD and this is the startup disk

I've got 342 Mb left on the drive and need to remove items

In the directory, after calculating all sizes in view options, there is nowhere near that much space taken up on the drive

so, there must be hidden files? or?

Can someone help please? Thanks!

Try a program such as Disk Inventory X or OmniDiskSweeper.

Hi, so I used the terminal to show all files and it turns out that all the software updates were being downloaded and not installed. So, 112 GB of downloaded updates in the hidden folder, 'Private' and then burried 6 or 7 levels below. Actual size of info to run OSX Server was under 7GB. What a pain.

Thanks for your advice Niel. I did'nt see this before I solved it but I really appreciate you replying to my post! Thanks!
