MacBook Pro - Finder Error Code 0 even though the external hard drive is setup as journaled Mac OS Extended

Hi guys

It's starting to irritate me that I still can't copy folders of more than 4GB to my external hard drives. I've checked some websites that told me that the external hard drive should be setup as "Mac OS Journaled", but when I check this via Disk Utility, I find out that they are. What is another solution for this problem, cause it takes a lot of time to select folders within folders within folders to copy to the external hard drive, instead of just copy and paste the main folder...

Thanks in advance!

Bob

4GB?, sounds like it's a FAT32 (MSDOS in Apple speak) drive.

I assumed you tried dragging and dropping, instead of copying and pasting?, because it sounds like your running into a RAM limit.

Hi DS Store

I might have clicked the "solved"-button, but that is probably not right yet, sorry 🙂

So, about your question: indeed, my English as a Flemish boy could be better, the situation is this:

I have a huge folder on my MacBook, and I keep a copy of it on some external hard drives, which I keep manually by selecting the folder, and put it on the external hard drive, so that it makes a copy of it on the external.

Certainly when overwriting the folder after for example I have newer version of it, it is a big problem since I have to select up to 15 times several parts of it to be up-to-date.

Is this a clear explanation? 🙂

thanks!
