Forgetting lost photos

When I go to Library-Photos, there are hundreds if not thousands of photos that say:

"The photo “Imagen 086.jpg” could not be opened, because the original item cannot be found."

Why isn't there a little box that says something like 'apply to all' when I choose to forget the files? Since that option is NOT available, my only option is to cancel over and over and with so many gone/deleted it would take forever. C'mon Apple!

Super frustrating.

I cannot even get into iphoto to access Preferences. I just keep having the prompt pop up that tells me that photos aren't found. Preferences is greyed out.

If say I eventually get to preferences and uncheck 'copy items to iphoto library,' will it allow me to set up an import target of my choosing?

In response to Terence Devlin Professional photographers and videographers do not want to have these files on the computer's hard drive. It will slow your computer down. And when you need a fast computer for big boy software, you can't have all those files clogging up the RAM. You should probably speak your trivial thoughts somewhere where you're qualified... like a Twilight forum.

Sorry but you are totally incorrect

and checking or unchecking the preference does nothing for the past - it simply does what it says - it either copies or does not copy imported items to the iPhoto library - not copying them is strongly discouraged and is likely to be yoru problem -- with the latest version of iPhoto and Aperature you can reconnect the links and in most cases iPhoto Library Manager - http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ - can do it

back to your incorrect post - all photos have to be on your hard drive, maybe the internal hard drive or maybe on an external hard drive, but they have to be on a hard drive to be accessable -- and photos on a hard drive take ZERO RAM - they have no effect of any sort on RAM use

as to qualifications - you may note that TD is extremely well qualified as shown by the amazing number of people who he has helped - I note that you never have helped a single person - so qualifications are easily determined

You have made poor decisions and have a mess on your hands as a result of your poor decisions - snide attacks on people trying to assist you are very much out of line
