duplicate emails in IMAP Gmail with iPhone 4 and iOS6.0

i seem to be getting duplicate emails which i have narrowed down to my gmail account. i get them on the phone but not on my computers.

i tried a search but i am not finding anything with these particulars.

can anyone help me with this issue?
