sync ical

I'm trying to sync iCal on my Mac Pro (OS 10.6.8) and my Macbook Pro (OS 10.7.5). I don't subscribe to iCloud, and I'l like to do this for free. I have Dropbox, but when I follow the various online suggestions to type these 2 commands in the Terminal:

mv ~/Library/Calendars/ ~/Dropbox/

and

ln -s ~/Dropbox/ Calendars/ ~/Library /Calendars

The 1st ne seems to work, but the 2nd gives me a "no such file" response.

I also use Google Drive & it seems like there should be a way to sync through that.

Any suggestions? I should say up front that my eyes gloss over any thing that involves 17 steps or more lines of code than what I just types above.

Thanks!

Mac Pro early 2009, Mac OS X (10.6.7), 2 x 2.26 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
