I just wanted to share a small tragedy that happened yesterday. My fiancee's brand new iPhone 5 fell off a fourth floor balcony to the street. And it is still functioning!
The bad thing is that although it is still functioning, it will cost me the price of a new iPhone to repair it. 😟
Nevertheless, what an extraordinary pice of equipment.
That's a great selling point for Apple! Take it in to a Apple store and they may still replace it. Also have your girlfriend take it in, they are suckers for the ladies. A female friend of my dropped her iPhone 4 and broke the screen after only 2 days and they replaced it for no charge.
My granddaughter dropped her iPod Touch after less than one-week and it cost me 90% of the first one to replace it.
The Apple service in Portugal is not like the one you described. 🙂 We already went there and their response was that the repair cost would be roughly the price of a new phone.
Well, the good news is that it looks like the days of easily shattered screens are over 😉
