Q: i dropped my Ipad sideways, the screen is only black and it wont turn on

The whacking method worked well , but after the second big drop, my iPad now has a hair trigger and it can easily black out again. But the method still works, I just have to do it every so often.

Smacking it didn't help for me. I just decided to drop it again and it worked. Don't know how, but it did. Hahaha

OMG!!!  Ive been without my Ipad for 3 months plus, I dropped it and the screen went black!  I found this post, dont know how I missed it, I literaly gave up hope, thinking I'd never use it again. low and behold I turned it upside down laid it on my knee and gave it a few smacks, nothing! then I almost gave up again... tried once more giving it a good SMACK,  (nothing to lose) and pressed and held the power & home buttons viola!!!!! Thanks a trillion times over
