How can I delete plugin from the list of effects?
I manually deleted the effects from "library-plug-ins-FxPlug" but they remain on the list in FCPX
Final Cut Pro X, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

The FxFactory plugins should be disabled in the FxFactory application.
Quit FCP X and start the FxFactory application. To the left of each plugin listed there is a check box. Uncheck those that you want to disable.
I had this issue with FX Factory.
I bought (I thought) Ripple Training's great Plugin 'Callouts' but it came bundled with hundreds of unwanted plugins. Knowing what havoc these can cause when you upgrade (and at other times) I wanted to delete them.
I did just what you did and was alarmed to find they still showed up in FCP X.
Eventually, FX Factory admitted the only way to actually DELETE these unwanted plugins was to Uninstall FX Factory - and lose 'Callouts' too.
Fortunately, they refunded my payment.
Nice people - misguided marketing. (Buy one, get 250 you don't want).

Please note that you can easily activate/deactivate the individual products so that only the effects you want show up inside your host applications. See the following tutorial:

Furthermore in the case of Final Cut Pro X, if you deactivate products in FxFactory they are indeed deleted from the Motion Templates folder completely! They remain available only inside FxFactory, in case you want to activate them at a later time. You do NOT have to uninstall FxFactory to remove individual products from Final Cut Pro X.
Products that are deactivated are not loaded by any host applications!

That is absolutely not my experience!
Disabling the plug-ins in FxFactory removes them from FCPX (and other supported hosts)!
I'm amazed that they don't know their own product better..!

But NOT from your Computer! It HIDES them - it does not REMOVE them.
(Unless Mark Spencer and the FX Factory support team has it completely wrong, that is).
Therefore you still have unwanted plugin files on your Mac.
That's not satifactory for me - I didn't buy them and I don't want them on my computer.

Indeed, even though deactivated FxFactory products are no longer being used or loaded by host applications files from disabled FxFactory products remain on the computer in case you want to activate them at a later date. In the case of Final Cut Pro X activating and deactivating results in FxFactory adding or removing the templates from the location Final Cut Pro X loads them from.
Indeed there are literally thousands of files that are part of MacOS and third party applications that are sitting on everyones harddrive that are unused unless the circumstances ask for them. Think fonts, templates, drivers, images, foreign language support etc... etc...
Are they not in:
~/Motion Templates/... ?
Only the effects compatible with motion are in ~/Motion Templates/...
I would like to eliminate neat video and lock & load
Ahh, yeah, they are still inside the FxFactory application bundle - atleast the default ones.. there are a lot that needs a download as well.. 😉
