iCloud events not syncing from iPhone to iCal

I'll try to make this simple:

I have my iPhone 4S (iOS 6) and my Mac Air synced to iCloud for everything. So, when I create, edit, or delete an event in iCal, it almost instantly synces to my iPhone. The same works in reverse from my iPhone to iCal, except... deleting events. Whenever I delete an event on my iPhone, it does not remove itself from iCal.

Why does this occur? What other pertintent information is necessary to resolve this issue? Thanks in advance for the help.
