the battery doesn't charge after it run out 2 weeks ago?!

Hello,

I had an unexpected and unplanned situation with my Macbook Air '11.

As I traveled together with a friend of mine who has the same product (but 2012 version, not 2011 as mine), I thought I can use his cable to recharge my computer. Well, the Macsafe for the newer generation changed and I realized that when my batter run out.

Now, after 10 days, am back home. I pluged the computer over one hour ago, but the green light still doesn't appear:(. He says I need to wait like 3 hours, that the battery needs "to wake up".

What should I do? Is the battery broken?

all right, I just tried another Macsafe (2011 standard) and my computer works again:). hope it works with my cable from home.

Have you tried resetting SMC?

I did it already, just my MacSafe seems to be broken:(.

Can this happen all of the sudden? I mean, before my holidays it was perfectly workin'.

It could occur for a variety of reasons.

If it is still under warranty, you can get the "MagSafe" charger replaced free of cost.

yea, u're right with this one. I called iMazing from Berlin and they told me to come over.

so yea - my MagSafe simpy broke while I was on holidays. wierd, right?! I tried it today with another Air and it didn't charge it, while my Mac charges with other MagSafes.

so, why do we have to pay so much for an Apple product if certain parts of it break so easily? I mean, c'mon!!

😁 i don't think criticism of Apple is justified in this case especially since they would simply give you a new one.

Nobody knows what happened to the charger - and as RRFS hinted, sometimes these things happen, sometimes they don't 😉

really?!

I don't share the same opinion if u have to pay over 1000€ for a computer, when two simple things (touchpad and MagSafe) break without a reason in less than a year (I didn't "hurt" my Air in any way).

so?! sorry Apple, but I won't.
