I have Logic Express 9 on my iMac and I have a new Macbook Air on the way which I want to install Logic onto. I only have a hardcopy of Logic and I know I can use drive sharing function but I might not be in range of a wireless network when I have to install it as things are all a bit last minute. If I use this to do it will Logic still be on the iMac or will it have moved to the macbook?

Migration Assistant "copies" it does not "move" data.
However, I have seen elsewhere that you are better off reinstalling the professional applications rather than relying on a migration. I don't use them, so I'm just reporting this.

What do you mean by "professional applications?"
Apple's pro apps like Logic, FCP, etc.
Gotcha! Thanks. Well I'm only going to use migration as a fallback if the Air arrives last minute and I have to do it when I'm away from the house.
