iMovie "freeze-up" 60-second solution...

The next time your iMovie "freezes up", and after doing repeated "force quit", and resorting to re-loading iLife software, (which accomplishes zero, other than making you even more frustrated), Try this:

Open your Hard Drive...click on "users"...click on iMovie...here, you will find both an Event File and a Project File...drag both files to your desktop. Now, go back and open iMovie application...you should notice that it immediately opens, but has neither event or project clips...because all your saved clips are in the two folders on your desktop, which you can now sort through, select, and import to your event work area....(and if you had saved your work on a disc, you could simply import it from from disc, or iTunes), rather than now having to re-build your project from scratch...AAaargh!

iMovie (iOS), Mac OS X (10.5.6)
