When I add calendar items to my iPhone, they automatically go to my computer. When I add calendar items to my computer, they do not show up on my iPhone until I manually sync them. Contacts are never synced until I manually sync. Since syncing manually takes a very long time, is there an easier way for my iPhone and my computer to sync up?? I do not have iCloud, because I don't have a .me address (that I am aware of).

If you don't use iCloud the only way to transfer data between your phone and your Mac is by syncing. If you update your mac to OS X 10.7.4 or later you can set up iCloud and sync automatically without connecting your phone to your computer. Thanks Randers - I was looking into updating to 10.7 yesterday, but unfortunately, my Mac is too old! Time for a new one!!
