why isn't icloud up to date?
my files on icloud are old. why are they not the latest version?

numbers. so i learned recently that i was supposed to manually drag and drop the files to icloud at each save or periodically. doesn't look like much i can do about it.
You could update to Mountain Lion, which mean you no longer have to drag your work to iCloud.com.
