iPad, Microsoft Exchange, and Kaplan

I recently started working for Kaplan as an Instructor and I want to configure my iPad to pick up emails from Kaplan. Kaplan uses Gmail as their "server". I contacted Kaplan and they sent me these instructions:

  1. On IPad login to https://www.google.com/accounts/unlockcaptcha in Safari with the Username and Password
  2. Click "Continue".

Now follow the below steps within 10 minutes in your IPad

  1. Click Settings
  2. Click Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  3. Click Exchange ActiveSync
  4. Turn the sliders to the off position for Mail, Contacts and Calendars
  5. Click Done
  6. Click Add Account
  7. Click Microsoft Exchange
  8. On the Setup Screen:
  9. Email – enter your full Kaplan email address (cmyers@kaplan.edu)
  10. Domain – Leave Blank
  11. Username – enter your full Kaplan email address (cmyers@kaplan.edu)
  12. Password – Enter your network/email password
  13. Description – Type Kaplan Gmail
  14. Click Next
  15. Server – M.GOOGLE.COM
  16. Click Next
  17. Click Save

Two issues, I don't see any option for "Exchange ActiveSync". And two, after completing the tasks above, I keep getting a message saying password incorrect. I type in the correct password yet it still says it is incorrect. Kaplan says its nothing on their end that is wrong. Help!
