iMessage issues for October 30, 2012.

My iMessage has worked all day up until around 4:30 P.M. eastern time. I've tried turning it off and on as well as turning my iPhone off and on. It says that iMessage is activated but it will not send any messages as iMessages to other phones whom I know for fact have iMessage and it will not even attempt to send iMessages now, making all my contacts who have iPhones automatically green instead of blue and going straight to being a text message instead.

I have an iPhone 4 and I am on Verizon in the Tampa, Florida area, if this helps at all.

If anyone knows of any fixes or what could possibly be the problem, any help would be appreciated.

This is because the storm. At the same time one of our corporate network providers went down that's based on the East Coast.

Again the outage is known to have been caused by storm and internet intermittent issues on the East Coast.

Same here in North Carolina..I took a nap got up and bam it isn't working. I was suppose to wake my friend up by it too. *loud sigh* Apple needs to get their mess together fast. Second time in the past week.

same in the Czech Republic! iMessage not recognising my apple ID and password so not activating...the apple id and password which works with logging into icloud.com

I think anyone knows about the storm, but I would expect a big company like Apple not to have all their servers sitting on the East Coast. I would expect them to be spread out precisely so that natural disasters such as earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, blizzards and hurricanes do not cause worldwide service outages.
