How can I just backup or restore voice messages on my iPhone 4S?

I need to save a few voice message that I have that are very important, back up files to my local PC's locale disk for long term backup, but I will also need to restore them if I ever need to reference them.

Can this be done?

Once synced, the are separate files in your iTunes library so you don't have to extract them from a backup. To save them separately from your library, go to the Voice Memos playlist, right-click on a voice memo and select "Show in Finder" (mac) or "Show in Windows Explorer" (pc). This will locate the .m4a file on your hard drive and you can copy it to a different location for safekeeping if you prefer.
