print e-mail from iPad 2 on Brother HL 2270DW?

The Brother HL 2270DW printer is not Airprint-equipped, but the Brother iPrint&Scan Apple app does enable printing photos, documents, webpages, clipboard.

Is there a way of printing e-mails by saving them as a document, or copying the whole e-mail (including header) to the clipboard? There's supposed to be a way to print documents from other apps by selecting the Brother iPrint&Scan Apple app from an "Open With..." prompt, but is that prompt available for e-mail anywhere?

Is there any way to print by attaching the iPad to the printer via USB somehow; is there an adaptor cable?

Thanks!

The Print function in the mail app appears to work only with AirPrint enabled printers, nor does it include a way to send the message to another app. Copying is limited to the body of the email (and the subject, but not at the same time). You cannot print via any USB connection.

If this is an ongoing need for you, you might check to see if any alternate email apps in the app store provides this.I don't know of any, but its not out of the question.

Another option to consider is to load a program on your PC/MAC that will allow your shared printers to appear as AirPrint printers. A few programs to look at are Printopia, AirPrint Activator, FingerPrint by Collobos. The only drawback is that the computer the software is loaded on must be up and running when printing from your iPad. I use FingerPrint and all my printers work as if they were AirPrint capable printers.
