Anyone know if an older monitor (BENQ FP91G+) can be made to work w/ a circa '07 iMac running Lion without a dedicated driver? Besides obvious hardware adapters, I'm asking from a software standpoint.

It should work with no additional software. You will need a Mini-DVI to DVI adapter.
