Turn on/off shuffle with clickwheel shortcut?

Now, here's a feature I'm hoping is already built-in to my iPod Photo 60 GB. I'd like to turn Shuffle on and off without having to navigate the menu all the way back to the top. Is there some clickwheel combination shortcut to turn Shuffle on and off from wherever I am in my menu structure?

If not, why not?!!

No, there is no such feature. Why not? Because Apple didn't provide one.

I don't know how such a feature would work.

Say I'm listening to my iPod using the Shuffle Songs feature. Then, I hear a song and decide to turn off the shuffle. How would the iPod know what I want to listen to? The album that contains that song? The Genre? Artist? a playlist that contains that song? How could it know?

Heaven only knows. I'm constantly surprised at the features that folks want Apple to put on the iPod in order to save a few button clicks.
