Is anyone else having problem getting their new iPad to readily connect to WiFi when coming within range of a WiFi network?m

My original AT&T iPad used to automatically disconnect from cellular use and connect to WiFi when I would come home or if I went to a place where there was unrestricted WiFi.

My new Verizon iPad now holds onto that cellular connection. I have to go in and manually turn off cellular and connect to WiFi when I use it at home or if I am in a place where there is unrestricted WiFi connection.

Additionally, if I've connected it to WiFi and I set it down for even just a few minutes, it will often lose the WiFi connection. I know it isn't WiFi strength as laptops connect just fine.

Side note: I am noticing the same issue with my Verizon iPhone 5 whereas my old AT&T iPhone4 used to readily switch.

Any suggestions? Anyone else experiencing this problem?
