how can I facetime my husbands iPhone?

I keep trying to use facetime app to facetime with others who have apple phone or ipad and I cannot get connected. What do I need to do to get started. I can do it on my phone but not my new I mac

on your iphone, it comes with an app called face time. tap the app, and when it opens, im pretty sure you have to put an email address. then you type you friends emali and face time them 🙂
