Does an ipad-ipod-iphones count as one of 5 devices allowed by itunes?

I was just wondering what is the limit of devices that can be associated to an apple ID. It is confusing to me when it is written computer. Does that only refer to an actual laptop, desktop and you can associate as many devices as you want trough these 'computers'? Thanks for the help
