iOS 6.0.1 WiFi Still Greyed Out

My iPhone's WiFi was working great on iOS 6 when it first came out, no problems whatsoever, until last week it failed over night without me knowing. The WiFi option was still available but unable to connect to my home network and when I rebooted the phone, the WiFI was greyed out. It has not been working since.

I waited for iOS 6.0.1 to come out as I understood that this was supposed to fix the problem many users with iOS 6 have been facing with WiFi connections, but this has not worked. I do not understand why it has failed. I bought this 4S in February and have never dropped it and it has always been in a case. The WiFi was working great before I went to bed and the next morning it was no longer working.

I have reseted the network settings, restored the phone and even tried using the phone as new and this has still not fixed the problem.

I went here and entered my serial number. I had to do it a couple of times before it went through, I selected "Contact Apple Support" on the next screen. Selected "Service Request and Troubleshooting". Selected "The topic is not listed" and entered "WiFi is not working" in the box and pressed Enter. Then I selected Continue. On the next screen, I selected "Talk to Apple Support Now". The next screen said I didn't have technical support coverage. I selected "Request an Exception" radio button and selected "I believe my product has a covered hardware issue" and then selected Continue. I filled in the boxes and they immediately called me back and I was talking with a Support Rep within a couple of minutes.

I just started having wifi issues last night with my wifi being grated out, blue tooth constantly loading, and my hotspot only working through tethering. Which I'd very annoying since I just bought and iPad last night and can't connect to it!

UNTIL NOW!!!!! Did the freezer thing for 10 min now everything works fine. What the heck!?!?! Why does that work and how long does that last? I shut my phone off while it was in the freezer.

FIX THIS APPLE I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO FREEZE MY PHONE FOR IT TO WORK!

I have a 4s from the Apple store, all worked perfectly until two weeks ago, I upgraded to IOS 6 some weeks ago, therefore I doubt it is a software issue or it would have been effected at the upgrade point.

My wife's 4s works fine on same wifi router at home, in our local pub etc, mine is either greyed out 95% of time of locks on for 1 minute then greys out.

This must be a hardware issue, I do accept that the new IOS 6 may not work correctly with some of the hardware but if people are freezing their phones and its working.... but I have read threads where as the phone warms up condensation develops... and this invalidates the warranty.

Ive got my appointment with the Genius Bar next Wednesday, lets see......

deyazzayed , you should pay a visit to Mobiley main center thats in King Abdulla Road "between King Abdul aziz and al Olaya intersection) right next to red tag shop, I think they might replace your device or repair it even if the warranty is off since its a hardware/software issue, you should try that, if you are in Jeddah or al Khobar you dont need to go to ritadh since each of these 3 cities has a mobiley main center

As per my entry on December 15th above....

I have done two full factory resets on my 4s, wifi still greyed out and bluetooth searched constantly.

I have today just been into the Apple shop where I purchased it, I am still within my 12 months manufacturers warranty. As usual the staff in there are simply BRILLIANT, efficient, polite, etc.

The man looked at my phone, checked a couple of things and said, we will give you a new phone. He changed the SIM etc, checked I had backed it all up to my MacBook and erased it all for me.

The new phone is working 100%

I asked why this is happening, referred to my upgrade to ios6 and the pages of comments on these forums, as was likely, the company stance is "we have no idea".

All I can say is, Apple did not quibble or fob me off, straightforward good buisness.....

Thanks
