sounds on iphone not working

Recently wiped my hard drive on my imac and reinstalled everything. Lost my old custom sounds and created new ones in garageband.

The new tones appear in itunes on my imac where they are supposed to be AND they appear on my iphone.

But when I select alert tones etc. all I hear is marimba.

I don't get my custom tones and I don't get even the default tones like ringing phone, alarm, etc.

Any suggestions welcome!
