How to create a motion 'curtain' effect?

Hi There,

I need to create an effect just like in the Tyco movie. It's the effect where two bars 'opens' and 'close' the Tyco brand label I tried differend possibilities but nothing worked. My 2 bars move but how can you let the brand pop up just behind that?

Thanks for your help.

Ok here is an effect (a mask) that will help you achieve that in seconds using just FCP.

I called it Bars Wipe but it is essentially a mask that you want to apply to a text generator

so that everything behind (i.e. in V1) remains visible.

Like here:

All you have to do is install the plugin, restart FCP apply it to the text, which I will assume

is going to be in V2 and adjust parameters to taste:

User uploaded file

Keyframe the In/Outwards parameter to close the bars, cut the text generator

at the point the bars close together, change the text in the following clip and keyframe the

paramater again to open the bars. Done.

Example:

Plugin do download:

Installation instructions:

After downloading the plug-in drag it to Macintosh HD / Library / Application Support / Final Cut Pro System Support / Plugins folder. Finally restart Final Cut Pro and the effect should show up in the effects menu (Luca's Plugins).

hope this helps,

Oh!

I wrote a few lines of code for that,

sorry it ended up not being useful for you...

Hope someone else is finding the plugin useful.

Shall I leave the plugin download link open guys reading this?

Creating the same effect in FCP X is much easier,

no need to write code, I'll rig a template for FCP X

when (if) I have time.

Check this post in a couple of days or let me know

if you post this over FCP X forum.

Michael is right, you posted in the wrong forum.

No worries :-)
