Error message updating Safari 6.0.2

Hi, I just tried updating this but got the following message:

The operation couldn’t be completed. (NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102)

I rebooted the Mac but still have the error message.

What I haven't seen mentioned is that this seems to be a Mountain Lion specific issue.

On the devices I have running Lion 10.7.5 I have had no problem downloading and installing the Safari 6.0.2 update.

It is only with Mountain Lion 10.8.2 that it refuses to download and I get the "(NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102)" error.

I tried a number of different methods to resolve this problem. From flushing DNS cache, to removing all software update preference files, plists, etc. None of these solved the problem. Error message was still "NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.(102)". Then I rebooted my router. This has appeared to resolve the problem. I was then able to update Safari to 6.0.2, and iPhoto and Aperture to their latest versions. To be certain, after rebooting router, I would still restart your computer to make sure whatever caches are (partially) cleared, and DNS entries have been updated.
