Know.
I have the same error code after trying to install the current safari update. I use not a MBP but a Mac Mini with ML.
Apparently, Apple is having server problems - not in the US but primarily on European servers. I was able to successfully install three updates tonight but other have been having problems - I'm assuming that you're trying to update from Apple servers?

Just having same error now, updating on iMac - and it is the iphoto/safari update causing problems. How does one update from a different set of servers?
Carol
It just all depends on where you are - I'm in the US and having no problems.
Where are you?

in Devon - UK
Yep - the European servers seem to be having trouble - going on 2-3 days now. Just be patient - there aren't any critical updates and I'm sure that Apple is aware of the problem and trying to fix it.
