Home Address Problem

To start, I had this exact problem before and fixed it. But that fix is no longer working. So, I'll try and expain it accurately.

When I am looking at my own contact and click on my "home" address. Maps takes me to a screen that says "Did you mean x address or did you mean y address". When I make a location based reminder like: " Remind me to take the trash out when I get 'home' " Maps automatically selects the address that is not the one I meant. Below my address is the 260 Florence one, but when I say " Remind me to take out the trash when I get home " It sets the home location at 260 Shirley... The way I got to the picture below is by clicking on my home address in contacts. To be clear, this happened with both Google and Apple maps. So I actually am not in the belief that this is related to the typical Apple maps problems.

Now I had fixed this before by putting in my county and not just the local city, but that fix is not working anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions how to make sure maps doesn't have to keep asking what I meant?

I have repeated your problem by entering the address 260 Florence Drive, SUBURB name, the state, zip code and US as the country and it asks me to choose between the Shirley Drive and Florence Drive addresses. Both are in the same US suburb and from the map I can see that if I drive along Florence Drive, Shirley Drive is a contiuation of it. Maybe the problem is that both streets are so close to one another and the GPS sensitivity cannot distinguish between them. My bet is the 260 is near where It meets Shirley

I was also betting that was an issue. You are an impressive individual for digging into it like that. Thank you! You deserve points regardless. The odd thing is, the zip code for the Florence is XXXXX - A, and the Shirley is XXXXX - B. Even when I put the address with the added A, Maps asks me to select one or the other as if I wasn't specific enough in the zip code field which I was!

I'm such a nerd, this is going to keep me up all night. lol

Thank you again.

I've seen issues like this in the Chicago suburbs as well. A single street may pass through multiple suburbs and can be called different names in all of them, or it may skip a name. A lot of times as GIS information is input, names can get mixed up. There is a way to report this in the Apple Maps app, and I hope you take the time to report it. I don't know how long it will take to fix though. I reported the pin being dropped for my address being about half a block off and I haven't seen anything yet, however, I don't think my address is that important. 😉
